Description

Rapidly growing firm offering solutions to Fortune 1000 employers in employee benefits looking to add an Actuarial Analyst. Business line consists of assisting customers with all aspects of health and group benefit initiatives including achieving results involving competitive plan design, vendor selection/management, funding strategy, compliance, and governance strategies as well as health management strategies for all types of health and welfare and voluntary benefit programs.
Duties:
 Defines, organizes, and takes responsibility for timely completion of work products.
 Completes accurate financial analyses on various actuarial projects
 Assist with data and financial requests for medical, pharmacy, dental, life and disability
programs
 Assist with gathering and reviewing benefit renewals
 The Analyst will create deliverables for review by other colleagues on the team
 Research various benefit trends as needed
 Add value by implementing creative solutions for customers
 Ensure compliance with government agencies and corporate policies and procedures
 Attend training sessions, courses, etc. to maintain up‐to‐date skills. Including completing
actuarial exams
Qualifications:
 BA/BS degree
 At least 2 years of relevant Health and Benefits actuarial work is required
 Advanced knowledge of employee benefit underwriting. Basic understanding of complex benefit concepts such as health care management, flexible benefits and alternative funding
 Superior analytical and mathematical skills, strong command of Excel,
 Excellent interpersonal skills, strong oral and written communication skills
 Excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple and complex tasks in a demanding work environment
 Must be proficient using the Microsoft Windows platform and the following standard software programs: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, internet‐based research, and internet‐based research systems
