Client looking to add an Actuarial Analyst to Sr. Actuarial Analyst. Ideal candidate will fall into that 2-4 year range and show success passing exams.
This position affords an immediate opportunity to apply analytical, problem-solving, communication and technology skills contributing to the development of solutions to challenging client issues. Will work independently and on teams to deliver consulting services to a broad and diverse range of defined benefit clients. Analysts will be encouraged to engage in continual learning and development activities with the goal to advance to higher level positions, and will be supported in pursuing exmas toward actuarial accreditation.
Role will be responsible for the completion of actuarial valuations for multiemployer pension plans, public pension plans and other projects. Projects include valuation activities and special project work addressing a myriad of unique and emerging retirement plan issues posed by client organizations.
Duties:
Researching and gathering information;
Reviewing and analyzing work products including plan data and financial statements;
Providing input to the development of solutions;
Creating and updating valuation programs and spreadsheet applications;
Assisting with report preparation and government filings and,
Working with actuarial and consulting staff to support effective presentation of work product to clients.
Qualifications
A minimum of an undergraduate degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science or related discipline;
Minimum of Two actuarial exams with intent to attain actuarial accreditation;
1-4 years of retirement plan actuarial experience in a consulting environment;
Relevant computer programming and software skills (strong Excel);
Project management skills;
Detail-orientation, organization and analytical skills; and
Demonstrated communication (verbal/written) and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively within a diverse group.
