Insurance company in the Midwest has a need for an Actuarial Associate II within the Inforce Management department. The incumbent is responsible for analyzing, summarizing, and reporting various types of complex financial information in support of the Company’s Product function. This role will work with other departments to prepare management reports, assist with policy calculations and other related work.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Applies principles of finance and mathematics in providing analytical support.
Provides calculation support of policy administration, values and benefits.
Requests and tests system changes assisting with IT projects.
Creates and maintains manual policy calculations/illustrations.
Completes experience studies to support pricing and inforce management.
Contributes to department-wide process improvement efforts, including training product team on company process improvement program tools and methodologies, identifying inefficiencies and developing and prioritizing corrective actions.

PREREQUISITES:

Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, or related field of study
2+ years of progressively responsible related actuarial experience, or equivalent combination of education/and experience;
At least 3 actuarial exams completed
Experience with Life or Annuity products is a plus
Experience with MS Excel / Word / PowerPoint.
Familiarity with data analytics tools (R, Python, Tableau.SQL) a plus.
Proficient in the use of SQL and Microsoft Office applications with emphasis on Excel and Access.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals and technical/operational procedures.
