Actuarial Consultant - Health - 9441
Description
Growing firm looking to add some horsepower to their health practice and looking for an experienced consulting actuary on the health side. Ideal candidate will have 8+ years experience dealing with the financials of health and welfare plans, ideally gained in a benefit consulting/brokerage firm or health underwriting / actuarial function of an insurance company. Must at least ben an ASA to be considered with FSA preferred.
Duties will include:
Foster client relationships, performing daily project management in addition to ongoing outreach and management of client requests and deliverables and vendor relations.
Be able to immediately demonstrate involvement in daily project management by participating in vendor and client outreach, learning processes and initiating timelines for addressing upcoming client needs.
Quickly develop rapport with clients and their vendors through a commitment to excellence, trust, and thorough communication.
Perform and review technical analysis such as actuarial projections and reserve liabilities (including IBNR), network disruption, and vendor procurements
Utilize standard and custom approaches to quantifying health and welfare impacts, focusing on accuracy, efficiency, timeliness, and thorough reviews to ensure excellence to clients
Participate in ongoing learning and development opportunities to stay abreast of actuarial and marketplace developments
Help lead client meetings; demonstrate expertise in actuarial/financial principles while clearly articulating key takeaways to stakeholders, including client leaders and board members
Within 3 months, be able to help lead client and board meetings, presenting financial exhibits and fielding questions, being able to explain technical concepts to audiences in ways that generate understanding and enable actionable next steps
Further enhance the technical/actuarial expertise of the firm, through associate mentorship and modeling tool development
Within 6 months, be able to propose modifications to existing modeling tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy
