Client looking to add a Health Actuarial Consultant. Ideal candidate will have 8-12 years with pure health experience (IBNR, Part D attestation and credible coverage certifications, IBNR val experience, stop-loss modeling, healthcare claims cost and trend setting). This role will serve as the technical expert, project manager, and final reviewer for actuarial calculations related to the annual funding, accounting, and compliance requirements for retiree health benefit plans and single/multi-employer health benefit plans.
Responsibilities
· Be a key contact for communication with clients, including day to day contact, participation in client meetings, and presentations
· Assist with strategy, idea sharing, and problem resolution
· Perform or oversee necessary calculations or analysis on special projects
· Oversee the annual valuation process, funding valuations, budget projections, and accounting results
· Prepare and monitor annual project budgets and client invoicing
· Manage relationships with brokers and other referral sources
· Serve as resource / subject matter expert to internal and external clients
· Assist in business development efforts, including RFP responses, conference attendance, develop and maintain a professional business network
Skills & Qualifications
· Bachelor degree in math, actuarial science, or other related field
· ASA required at a minimum
· If not fully credentialed, pursuit of FSA is required
· 8+ years of health actuarial experience
· Project management experience
· Strong communication skills, including client consulting and presentations
