Actuary - Group Benefits - Life - Health - Pension - 8591
Leading provider of financial products and services looking to add a near FSA to FSA actuary with Group Benefits experience to join Employee Benefits division. Products entail long term disability, short term disability, group life and accidental death and dismemberment insurance, dental, vision, critical illness, and hospital indemnity products. Will have the opportunity to influence and have visibility with leadership to help drive the view of the products and results that will help shape future decisions.
Contribute to the preparation, review, and analysis of financial statements following GAAP, statutory or tax reporting principles.
Analyze financial results and identify drivers and trends in the profitabilty of the products.
Analzye external economic and competitor data and trends to analyze the business to advise on how to better compete.
Communicate financial information to management and assist and influence corporate strategies.
Develop programs, reports, and tools using SAS to build out data structures and assess business.
Review the work of others and keep on top of regulatory issues.
Ideal candidate will have at least 4+ years of relevant actuarial experience along with being a near FSA to FSA.
Ability to collaborate with actuarial and business leaders to evaluate, understand and quantify trends and risk.
Advanced Excel skills with knowledge of VBA and writing macros.
Experience in at least one product area such as group benefits (LTD, STD, etc.), group life, individual annuities, individual disability, or 401K retirement plans.
Long Term Care or Individual disability insurance experience is helpful.
Some experience with programming required. SAS experience strongly preferred.
