Client seeking an actuary with either life insurance or health insurance experience to assist with financial examination projects.
Financial Examination Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Work with financial examination teams to identify the key risks faced by the company under examination and assess the controls that the company has in place to mitigate those risks.
· Review and analyze the Actuarial Opinion Memorandum to confirm statutory reserve compliance with applicable state and/or federal regulations and Actuarial Guidelines.
· Review assumptions and methodologies used to determine actuarial liabilities and assets to determine if they are reasonable and appropriate. This may include performing trend analysis and reserve recalculations.
· Create requests for additional information when further clarification is needed.
· Conduct interviews with appointed actuary and participate in senior management interviews.
· Prepare report documenting substantive work performed and findings based on a risk focused examination approach.
· Provide training and education seminars to regulators.
· Collaborate with regulatory partners on issues with an actuarial impact.
