Description
Client is seeking a mid-level actuarial candidate on the pension side with around 5-8 years and is very near ASA+/EA or recently attained - someone who is looking to grow into a consultant role in the next few years. Position can be located in an office or can also be remote for the right person.
Key Responsibilities could include: Client Management - consulting with clients and prospects regarding actuarial and administrative issues for retirement plans and design alternatives; Plan Valuation Review - drafting or review, depending on client complexity, of annual valuations for pension (qualified and non-qualified) and post-retirement medical plans for ERISA, PPA, US GAAP, and IAS purposes ; Annual Testing Review - drafting or review, depending on client complexity, of results of non-discrimination and Top Heavy testing for defined benefit and aggregated defined benefit-defined contribution programs ; Government Forms - preparation and review of IRS & PBGC filings ; Plan Design - developing plan design options for prospects ; Overseeing Administrative Projects - providing review of complex benefit calculations and benefit statements and review plan documents and SPDs ; Staff Management - ability to delegate and review work of junior actuarial analysts.
Desired Background: 4+ years of experience in pension actuarial work · Candidate must have significant progress towards attaining their Associateship to the Society of Actuaries (ASA) or Enrolled Actuary (EA) credential if not already attained · Work with cash balance and variable annuity plans is a plus ·
