Description
Consulting and technology firm that uses creativity to push boundaries looking to add an experienced pension actuary to their staff. Firm has a strong footprint in the Cash Balance space. This would ideally be a solid secondary consultant with the ability and desire to become a primary consultant. Must be detail orientated and have solid client skills along with being a go-getter and hungry to get infront of clients. Ideal candidate will have 5-10+ years of progressing experience. This person would ideally slot into a reviewer/mentor role and grow into a lead client facing role. That being said, also willing to consider candidates a bit more further along too. Cash Balance experience a plus, but not required. Exams and Credentials preferred, but not opposed to a good candidate who's not pursuing exams or won't be obtaining actuarial credentials. This person can be fully remote, or work in one of a handful of office locations around the US. They handle mostly small to mid-sized Cash Balance client engagements.
Responsibilities:
Review and ensure timely delivery of individual benefit calculations
Complete and/or review valuation reports and related required reporting
Complete and review special projects, such as plan design, plan terminations, lump sum windows, multi-year projections, client conversions, and government forms
Primary and/or secondary contact for the client
Consult with clients regarding benefit administration, pension regulations, and general retirement consulting topics
Review analyst work; act as final technical review for client projects.
Train and mentor actuarial analysts on technical work and client interaction
Assist leadership with internal development as needed
Analyze and improve internal processes and procedures to increase accuracy, consistency, and efficiency
Stay up to date on marketplace, regulations and trends related to all types of Defined Benefit pension plans
