Description
Accountabilities:
-Complete quarterly reserve analyses across our complete product portfolio.
-Provide clear and concise communication of results to technical and non-technical audiences, and on cross functional teams.
-Evaluate complex problems using technical expertise. Present findings and make recommendations.
-Participate in special projects designed to improve the quality of information, analysis, and the reserving process.
-Build product knowledge and industry expertise to become trusted advisor to business partners.
-Provide consultation and clarification on actuarial models and risk issues, and influence business partners towards courses of action that have a potentially sizeable impact on profitability and/or reserve adequacy.
-Mentor, motivate, and train less experienced staff and peers.
-Perform other related work as required.
Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Business, Finance or equivalent experience.
-Minimum 3 or more years of relevant actuarial work experience, strongly preferred to have experience in reserving.
-Commitment to achieving Associate or Fellowship in Casualty Actuarial Society.

-A content or technical expert within own area of responsibility.
-Experienced and knowledgeable actuarial viewpoint in multiple actuarial subjects, and in company, industry, and regulatory practices as well as the role of other departments in the company.
-Very familiar with internal and external statistical trends, factors, issues, and data impacting underwriting results and business strategies.
-Proven advanced project management skills; strong application of very advanced actuarial concepts to projects.
-Progressive computer and administrative skills.
-Ability to perform advanced actuarial activities using actuarial methodologies and procedures, and understand complex methodology.
-Advanced analytical, problem solving and decision making skills.
-Proven organizational and customer service skills;
-Excellent communication skills both verbally and written to exchange complex information.
-Experience working with Excel, SQL, R and Office Suite programs.
