Insurance client in the Midwest is seeking an Assistant Actuary to provide support to the capital management function. This includes meeting regulatory and rating agency requirements. The department provides capital reporting to parent company and external partners. This role will develop and perform analysis on time-specific projection models and consult on internal growth plans that impact capital. This role requires strong collaboration with the CRO, finance leadership, asset management, reinsurance, financial reporting as well as credit risk and financial risk teams. This highly visibility role will be an important partner in major company projects.
Duties:
Manage projects, analyze results and provide options and recommendations including:
New product pricing models, Product management tools and studies, Business and related forecasts, Implementation of new valuation methods
Perform actuarial research supporting: Product pricing and development, Hedging and risk mitigation methods, valuations and insurance regulations
Prepare financial reports and analysis, actuarial memos and responses to support:
New product research filings and rollouts, Requests from external auditors, state regulators and rating agencies, Parent company requests and requirements, experience studies and pricing, projection or valuation assumptions
May manage other entry-level actuaries; training and direction of other entry-level actuaries
Qualifications:
8-10 years of experience required in Actuarial field
4+ years of experience in Financial Services or Insurance industry
Must be ASA working toward FSA.
FIA, RILA product line experience is ideal
Life Insurance and or/Annuity experience is required
This is an onsite, hybrid role
