Associate Actuary, FP&A - Life- 9502
Description
Insurance company in the Midwest has a need for an Associate Actuary for Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A). The incumbent contributes to the financial planning and analysis at the company and supports the proper risk management and audit controls of the FP&A models and process. The incumbent collaborates with treasury, product & pricing, financial reporting, accounting, investments, risk management, and/or audit teams to achieve FP&A team and shared business objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supports the update and maintenance of FP&A projection process across various scenarios and metrics to produce detailed forecasts
Runs MG-ALFA models to generate inputs for the FP&A projection process to fulfill the budgeting, forecasting and impact analysis on balance sheet and income statement
Runs MG-ALFA projection models to generate inputs for the timely and accurate rating agency capital metrics for management reporting on a quarterly basis
Completes the timely and accurate reporting, validation and analysis of liabilities, as well as delivery of required mid-year and year-end reporting items based on MG-ALFA projection outputs
Ensures the reporting deliverables on a monthly or quarterly cycle, including taking appropriate actions arising from management review and interpretation of results
Supports the development of a repeatable FP&A process with proper controls and documentation, to be consistent with the best practice of risk management and audit controls
Completes the internal and external audit deliverables with timely and accurate preparation and validation, and applicable maintenance of valuation assumptions and inputs
QUALIFICATIONS:
3+ years of related actuarial experience, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
ASA
General knowledge of the life and annuity industry and products.
Prior experience utilizing MG-ALFA actuarial software is beneficial. Will consider more years of experience in an alternative actuarial software
Experience using SQL and a comprehensive understanding of relational databases is preferred
Ability to work collaboratively and successfully with internal & external affiliates
