Client looking to add an Associate Actuary-Transformation for their Corporate Actuarial team. This position will be part of a new team focusing on actuarial transformations. This detail-oriented, results-driven individual will have advanced knowledge of industry practices and standards and assume the lead in the assigned responsibilities. This position is essential for moving the department to a more modernized state which will create efficiencies, enhance controls, and increase value to the company. This position is responsible for providing actionable information that enables good business decisions along with designing and managing project initiatives and business processes within job area.
Duties:
Support development of end-to-end valuation workflow processes in a cloud-based environment, taking the lead on some aspects of the project
Test new processes for accuracy and appropriateness, communicating results and helping to resolve any issues identified
Assist in the design of new processes
Support development and testing of Prophet models, including Assumption Manager, for all Corporate Actuarial uses
Participate in planning, writing business requirements, and making recommendations related to modernization
Assist in the build and testing of an assumption repository
Support the Assumption team in development and testing of enhanced experience study data and processes
Provide guidance to others on new processes and helping them implement the new processes
Engage with other departments to facilitate modernization
Document decisions made, processes put in place and other work performed; and reviewing documentation from others
Compile and analyze data, using statistical formulas and other actuarial methods; proposing better or additional forms of analysis
Assist in developing and implementing procedures to comply with new regulatory, control or governance requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or related field or equivalent work experience
Minimum 4-7+ years of actuarial experience, with life and/or annuity experience preferred
Prophet actuarial projection software knowledge preferred
Associate or Fellow of the Society of Actuaries designation. Member of the American Academy of Actuaries.
Advanced knowledge of insurance products and concepts, actuarial theory and techniques, and regulation of the insurance industry.
Ability to accurately perform detailed calculations with a high-level of understanding.
Ability to clearly and thoroughly document assumptions, decisions, processes, and other work performed.
Project management experience with the ability to multi-task and switch back and forth between projects as needed.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
