Client seeking a talented Prophet Modeling expert. This role can be on-site, hybrid, or 100% remote.
As a Prophet Modeling expert, you’ll play a key role in client's growth and long-term success by working on Prophet model development for various products of the Institutional division. You will fill the role of the resident asset and ALM modeling expert in Prophet. You will contribute to modeling of institutional products such as Qualified Longevity Annuity Contract (QLAC), Target Date Funds, Personal Pension Fund products and others. You will collaborate with pricing, valuation and data infrastructure teams to provide cutting edge modeling and reporting capabilities and ensure excellent model user and business experiences. Your colleagues will include software and data engineers, data scientists and fellow actuarial professionals.
Duties:
Work in a modeling role focused on model development for new and existing institutional products in a rapidly growing business
Take ownership and perform tasks related to converting new product pricing prototypes into production systems that include integration of pricing, valuation and ALM logics in Prophet, as well as integration with data infrastructure, process automation framework and testing system
Perform initial development and testing/debugging of Prophet models, peer review changes made by other team members and act as an internal Prophet expert for your colleagues
Proactively evaluate and recommend modeling strategies and potential approaches to find solutions that best address business needs
Maintain quarterly model release, meet model risk governance requirements, and update related documents
Lead model development initiatives that improve and expand existing models
Partner with IT and functional areas to develop simple, effective, and innovative solutions to simplify modeling processes
Provide training to model users to ease learning curve and further develop training materials, tools and templates based on the model risk management policy and standards
As the model liaison, educate model users on new model features developed and support related production implementation efforts through model deployment
Provide guidance and expertise to junior staff on methodology, model implementation, and testing/debugging to support modeling initiatives
Support and comply with all Model Risk Management initiatives and standards, including model risk, model documentation, model consistency and transparency, and other best practices guidelines
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s in actuarial science, computer science, finance, mathematics or related field
ASA with 7+ years with extensive actuarial work experience in modeling.
Excited to work in a role that involves heavy use of Prophet in context of pricing, valuation and ALM modeling
Self-starter with ability to develop solutions by collaborating with multiple business partners
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team, and to manage long-term projects
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Ability to understand coding in Python, Visual Basic, SQL or other languages that pricing prototypes may have used a plus
Advanced knowledge and experience in Prophet, especially experience with asset and ALM modeling in Prophet a plus
Experience with Defined Contribution Lifetime Income (DCLI), QLAC, Target Date Funds, Personal Pension Funds, Group Annuity, Variable Annuity (VA), Fixed Income Annuity (FIA), Stable Value (SV) or other retirement products a plus
Experience with ALM/Hedging a plus.
