Our client is seeking an experienced actuarial consultant to join it's retirement practice and take on both client leadership as well as future leadership responsibilities. Duties:
Consultant will work directly with senior actuaries to provide a full range of actuarial consulting services for all types of plans including: Defined Benefit, Cash Balance, Pension Equity, 401K, 401M, Profit Sharing, Non-Qualified, and Retiree Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life Plans.
Work could entail: preparing actuarial valuations, benefit calculations, participant statements, government filings, nondiscrimination tests, and plan documents for review.
As this role progresses, work will increase to managing special projects for large companies.
Idea is this role will be groomed to replace one of the senior actuaries as a succession plan.
This progression will be dictated by the candidate's background, skill set and capabilities. Idea though is this person will be a long term, full-time person who can take over clients and be a big part of the future.
Due to the size of this firm, this person must continue to be involved in all aspects of the work. Must be strong technically, have client facing capabilities and be able to function autonomously.
Qualifications:
10-25 years of experience working at an employee benefits consulting firm on Pension and OPEB plans.
FSA/EA preferred
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience with business development, project management, and client management.
ProVal experience a plus.
