Client looking to add a Consulting Actuary ideally with some public sector experience/knowledge. This role will be responsible for the management of IRS qualified defined benefit pension plans, public sector pension plans, and retiree medical plans. This includes consulting on the actuarial valuation, special plan design, study requests and regulatory compliance. Direct client relationship building for clients is expected.
Primary Duties:
Manage recurring actuarial projects with support staff
Represent the company on client calls and in client meetings as needed
Ability to accurately interpret and apply plan documents provisions
Ensure compliance with DOL, IRS and PBGC requirements
Review of Form 5500 and related schedules, Form 8955-SSA and PBGC filings
Prepare and certify valuations for private and public sector defined benefits plans
Prepare actuarial valuations for private sector and public sector retiree medical plans
Review of benefit calculations including optional forms of payment
Ensure proper coordination and delivery of annual required notices
Review of Actuarial Analyst work within team environment
Qualifications:
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication
Must be detailed and possess strong organizational skills
Time management focused adhering to deadlines and timelines
Proficient with public and private sector actuarial measurements
5+ years of prior actuarial work experience
Broad knowledge of the retirement plan industry
Experience with ProVal required
EA and/or ASA required, at least 1 designation.
