Client seeking a talented Director & Actuary to join an Institutional Division Valuation Team. This role will play a key role in company's growth and long-term success by leading the valuation, projection, and hedging work for group variable annuity products. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and reporting valuation and hedging results for the group variable annuity products. This role can be on-site, hybrid, or 100% remote
Actual job level will vary depending on years of experience and exam progress.
Duties:
Responsible for reviewing and analyzing principle-based reserving (PBR) under VM-21 for group variable annuity products
Responsible for reviewing and analyzing GAAP reserve movement for group variable annuity products
Communicate and present financial and hedging results to management with clarity and appropriate depth
Responsible for reviewing and analyzing annual statement pages, exhibits and supplements in accordance with regulatory requirements
Responsible for reviewing and analyzing regulatory, financial, and economic projection results
Assist in developing and implementing innovative hedging strategies to effectively manage complex exposures that combine Actuarial, Financial, and Capital Market risks
Effectively communicate complex financial concepts and risk management solutions to audiences with varied levels of familiarity with capital markets and actuarial concepts
Provide support to evaluate potential hedging strategies including current and projected financial impacts
Qualifications:
Thorough knowledge of variable annuity valuation and projection
Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) with 5+years of experience or ASA with 7+ years of experience
Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
Takes initiative with strong problem-solving skills
Experience with financial modeling systems
Knowledge of variable annuity hedging a plus
Experience with Prophet financial modeling system a plus.
