Description
Client looking to add an Employee Benefits Consultant. Job can be Remote, but would prefer someone already based in the Northeast. Will work within Healthcare Consulting Services practice on health and welfare benefit programs and associated human resource needs of mid to large-size clients.
Duties:
Strong knowledge of Health & Welfare plan designs, funding arrangements, pricing strategies, provider networks, and competitive market practices
Perform detailed financial analysis, including claim projections, trend analyses, competitive market benchmarking, and cost management strategies for employers
Evaluate and negotiate renewals for both insured and self-insured benefit plans
Resolve escalated vendor service delivery issues
Advise clients regarding state and federal statutory, regulatory, and other compliance related issues
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Maintain necessary level of knowledge to stay abreast of changing health and welfare benefits
Proficient with Microsoft Office suite and ability to utilize internally developed software and programs
Utilize standardized spreadsheet tools and develop customized models for special projects
Identify opportunities for new sales or cross-selling potential
Qualifications
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in business administration, human resources, healthcare administration, economics, or similarly related field
NYS Life and Health insurance license and/or professional HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM) preferred
Minimum 6 years experience with employee benefit and human resource consulting preferred
Knowledge of Health & Welfare plan design and competitive market practices
Strong analytical, technical, and problem solving skills
Excellent communication skills and client service mentality
Attention to detail, organization, and ability to prioritize in a rapidly changing environment
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and produce high-quality deliverables in a timely manner
Project management experience and aptitude to train, mentor, and review work of analysts
