Client is seeking a proficient Actuary with specialized expertise in medical and pharmacy expense forecasting, trend development, budgeting, and analytics. This role requires a seasoned professional capable of interpreting complex financial data, assessing risks, and providing strategic insights to support organizational decision-making.


  • Complete actuarial documentation by overseeing and coordinating the actuarial aspects of financial reports, tax returns, and regulatory responses. Present findings to mid-level leadership.
  • Develop and design evaluations of product lines through detailed analysis of financials, reserves, valuation, and cash flows. Interpret and communicate findings regarding product line performance, risks, and assumptions crucial for development.
  • Design and execute actuarial research, employing sophisticated methodologies to enhance standards, assumptions, and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Assess, analyze, and interpret financial risks and opportunities using both traditional actuarial methods and actuarial judgment during analytical processes.
  • Lead collaboration efforts with business partners, translating intricate actuarial concepts into actionable recommendations. Develop and provide precise actuarial and financial advice aligned with Actuarial Standards of Practice.
  • Create frameworks and assumptions for new, existing, and innovative actuarial models to address evolving business needs.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, or a related field.
  • Minimum eight (8) years of progressive actuarial experience, with a focus on forecasting, budgeting, and analytics. Equivalent work experience in a directly related field may substitute for the degree requirement.
  • Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in medical and pharmacy expense forecasting within the healthcare or insurance industry.
  • Proficiency in actuarial software and statistical modeling tools.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and trends.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present findings clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Commitment to maintaining professional development and staying updated with industry trends and regulations.
