Consulting firm client looking to add a Health Principal Consulting Actuary to their staff. This role will provide health care consulting services to multiemployer, public sector, and private sector clients with opportunities to manage corporate clients. This actuary must be able to consult, manage clients, manage project team, produce actuarial and consulting health care work products, review actuarial and consulting results and help generate revenue.
Qualifications:
Able to present actuarial health care results to client in a clear and concise manner.
Understand current employer sponsored healthcare market, knowledge of major health insurance providers, medical networks, PBMs, dental networks, vision networks, behavioral health networks, life and disability insurers, and TPAs in US.
Understand employer sponsored compliance perspectives, including ACA and MHPAEA requirements.
Extensive experience in completing and managing a variety of health care projects.
Track record of being a part of the revenue generation process.
Enjoys being hands on and digging into the numbers for accuracy.
FSA designation required to be considered.
Must have at least 7 years of health actuarial consulting experience.
Must have experience managing all aspects of employer sponsored active and retiree health and welfare plans (e.g. cash flow projections, reserve calculations, benefit change pricing, health care vendor management, selection, and negotiations.
Must have experience with retiree medical plan actuarial valuations.
Ability to complete and review actuarial results.
Ability to lead client and internal meetings.
Manage complex clients and projects and maintain client relationships.
ProVal not required, but a plus
Experience in datamining and machine learning a plus.
