Sr. Actuarial Health Consultant - Limited Remote - 9830

Client looking to fill an important and senior level Health and Welfare Actuarial Consultant position. Big job looking for someone with charisma and strong consulting experience. Multiemployer experience highly desired. Clients are located out West, so being located in California is preferred. Having the ability to come into the Los Angeles area office highly desired. Open to remote as long as candidates are located in Pacific or Mountain time zones.
o Manage challenging interactions and all aspects of client deliverables
o Lead and attend meetings and client calls
o Lead assigned client teams and identify opportunities to develop individual team members
o Communicate with the team to understand the need and history of the work being completed
o Work with plan professionals to develop strategy including, but not limited to, projections, benefit rates, compliance, and cost containment
o Work with associates (and plan professionals, if applicable) to develop routine deliverables including, but not limited to financial position and utilization reports, annual reports, plan communications, income and expense projections
o Work with associates to develop non-routine (but consistent) deliverables including, but not limited to participating in negotiations, and develop and analyze RFPs from vendors
o Provide advice or guidance to internal associates and external plan professionals
o Deliver compelling, engaging, informative, and enlightening presentations
o Promote practice-wide goals and recognize opportunities for organizational growth
o Review processes and projects for improved efficiencies and be willing to help effect change
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:
o A credentialed actuary is preferred
o 15+ years of health and welfare consulting experience
o Strongly prefer experience with multiemployer health plans, negotiation support, and/or work with bargained health plans
