Client looking to add a Health and Welfare (H&W) Benefit Analyst
· Client: Work with lead consultant to manage all aspects of client deliverables and meeting items. Monitor and respond to client emails/calls in a timely fashion. Position may grow into becoming lead consultant for clients, depending on the strength of the candidate.
· Project Management: Manage client teams, including:
o Work closely with lead consultant to determine and execute client’s strategic goals
o Assign and monitor interim deadlines and responsibilities
o Ensure compliance
o Communicate relevant information to all team members
o Work with other project managers and team members as needed to prioritize and, in some cases, reassign client work to achieve practice-wide objectives
o Assist in the billing process
· Client Routine Deliverables: Work with Associates (as well as vendors and plan professionals, if applicable) to complete the following projects:
o Draft or update communication materials for clients, including understand legal and plan-specific requirements for:
§ Summary Plan Description (SPD)
§ Summary of Material Modifications (SMM)
§ Plan Document
§ Plan Amendments
§ Summary of Benefits and Coverage
§ Plan change announcements
o Understand thoroughly client’s plan-specific components to support plan appeals discussions
o Develop clear understanding of medical/pharmacy providers’ (vendor) programs and processes and be able to communicate (verbally and in writing) these components clearly to Associates and clients.
· Manage implementation of vendor, plan design, or funding changes, including create and monitor timeline and responsibilities throughout the implementation process
· Promote practice-wide goals and provide mentorship and professional growth and development to Analysts and other Associates:
o Mentor and assist in technical and career goals
o Support, instruct on, and model H&W processes and technical aspects of client work
· Personal Growth: Review and understand new strategies and changes in the marketplace that impact clients
· Willingness to explore growth opportunities within firm, including help improve current processes and help grow people (want someone who wants to have a voice in how they work and is willing to work to help effect change)

· 5+ years of verbal and written communication benefits experience; broad understanding of benefit structures and programs is required (may be achieved through having been a benefits specialist or generalist at healthcare consulting firm or other benefits-based experience)
· Experience in researching and editing of SPDs, SMMs, and plan amendments
· College degree from accredited college preferred
· Excellent communicator; proven written and verbal skills a must
· Strong working knowledge and experience in Word and PowerPoint
· Experience with multiemployer health plans, negotiation support, and/or work with bargained health plans a plus
