IFRS Actuary - Life - 9589
Insurance company in the Midatlantic US has a need within their IFRS Valuation team.
The incumbent will serve as the subject matter expert responsible for the valuation processes underlying the production, analysis, and review of IFRS reserves and related financial information.
Responsibilities: Gain a thorough understanding of the underlying IFRS 17 framework and key concept; Gain a thorough understanding of the team’s responsibilities regarding all monthly, quarterly, and annual valuation requirements, and perform assigned processes within specified deadlines; Coordinate and execute the production and review of reserves and related financial metrics according to IFRS requirements and actuarial principles; Perform relevant analyses and collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure efficient and effective valuation operations; Compile information for regulatory disclosures; engage with internal and external stakeholders; contribute to IFRS 17 technical policy decisions as the subject matter expert representing the actuarial valuation team; Support the development and analysis of IFRS valuation assumptions; Perform relevant model evaluations and impact assessments, and prepare associated documentation; Perform profitability analyses to support IFRS 17 Unit of Account mapping; Prepare materials to discuss with senior leadership and coordinate with pricing team to ensure alignment with expectations; Support any additional ad-hoc IFRS17 projects as the subject matter expert representing the actuarial valuation team; Provide relevant IFRS 17 training and support to company's Finance and Actuarial departments as required; Maintain and enhance documentation of valuation processes, procedures and controls; Coordinate and execute testing of IFRS systems and model changes and collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure continuing model appropriateness and accuracy, and compliance with applicable control frameworks.
8+ years of life insurance/actuarial experience, including valuation
Experience with IFRS 17
Actuarial software skills (GGY-AXIS experience preferred)
Spreadsheet and database capabilities (Excel, VBA, SQL, SAS)
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
