Description

Growing organization lookingfor a healthcare actuary to come in and lead the OPEB practice, as well as overall development of other healthcare initiatives. Role provides opportunity to broaden technical skills, communicate with clients and contribute to the development of the larger actuarial practice.
Duties:
Complete actuarial valuation work under GASB 74/75, ASC 765-10, and ASC 965-10.
Calculate expected IBNR reserves and project health plan premium rates for self-insured groups.
This role will be instrumental in the growth and development of the actuarial team, provide direction, training and oversee project management.
Serve as technical expert
Serve as main point of contact and manager for group of public sector pension clients.
Maintain and assess controls related to OPEB valuations.
Review OPEB valuations prior to sign off.
Support the creation and review of the final Actuarial Report deliverable.
Coordinate with auditors to meet all reporting requirements.
Communicate with clients on day to day tasks in simple layman's terms.
Complete in-depth actuarial and financial analysis on health care costs and discount analysis.
Qualifications:
Ideal candidate will have 4-10+ years of actuarial experience in the valuation of public pension plans from a consulting firm environment.
OPEB experience required.
ASA designation preferred.
Demonstrated success in project management including planning, organizing, coordinating, and managing staff, clients, and/or partners towards the successful completion of a project.
Strong communication skills.
Working knowledge of actuarial valuation software.
