Venture capital backed technology company that works with government clients and municipal agencies to help them better navigate the complexities of actuarial analysis for pension and retiree health plans. They provide an actuarial software suite and valuations from contracted actuaries and looking to bring this in-house. Product team has a need for an OPEB Actuary. Must be at least an ASA with FSA preferred. Job can be fully remote.
Supervise/Review construction and delivery of client's OPEB software product for various public entity clients.
Perform valuation services for post-retirement medical plans.
Create internal processes for producing GASB 74/75 reports.
Set all assumptions (Medical Trend, Mortality, Demographic, etc.) for OPEB valuations
Perform Claims Cost Analysis.
Prepare and/or review actuarial valuation reports (GASB 74/75).
Sign GASB 74/75 reports
Supervise OPEB modeling consulting projects.
Author OPEB plan configurations for each client.
Consult with key decision makers at state and local government clients using software.
Provide coaching to junior staff.
Ideal candidate will have 7+ years of experience in pensions and OPEB.
ASA at a minimum with FSA and EA a plus.
Programming experience a plus.
Excellent communication and presentation skills
ProVal experience is helpful as the valuation engine currently uses ProVal.
