Client looking to add a Pension Actuary to their staff due to growth. This role will advise defined benefit clients while consulting on the financing, risk, design and administration of their retirement programs. Role requires an advanced knowledge of ERISA, US GAAP and IFRS accounting as it relates to pension plans and risk management strategies.
Consult with plan sponsors on all aspects of retirement programs including, de-risking strategies, plan termination, plan design, mergers and acquisitions, non-discrimination testing and overall plan compliance.
Review and certify pension funding and accounting valuations while assisting clients with development of funding strategies for pension plans.
Overall responsibility for delivery of projects and services to actuarial clients.
Represent actuarial capabilities through new business development opportunities and collaborate on marketing initiatives and product development.
Provide technical support and plan provision interpretation assistance to administration team during onboarding of new clients.
Consult on implications of new laws and regulations.
Looking for 8+ years of relevant pension actuarial experience along with at least an EA designation.
Looking for consulting firm experience as opposed to coming out of an insurance environment.
Strong client interaction with ability to provide concise and accurate explanations of complex issues.
Strong project management skills with ability to lead multiple projects
Provide guidance and training to more junior staff and/or manage small to medium actuarial teams.
Requires some domestic travel.
