Pension/Health Benefits Analyst - 9892
Description
Client is seeking a Benefits Analyst with a minimum of 5 years of experience consulting to assist with both Pension and Health Fund assignments. The assignments will generally consist of (i) financial analysis, (ii) compliance matters, and (iii) benefit administration projects.
Candidate will be successful in this position if they have a desire to learn new concepts, be cross trained in both pension and health benefit fields, and are proactive and self-starters.
Responsibilities
• Assist lead consultants in preparation for client board meetings
• Assist with actuarial valuations for pension and health plans
• Prepare government filings
• Prepare pension benefit statements and process benefit calculations
• Prepare financial forecasting to measure performance of pension/health funds
• Assist with COBRA rate development, IBNR, and retiree contribution rates
• Update SPDs and plan documents, and assist with drafting plan amendments
Qualifications
• Experience with either defined benefit pension or group health plan consulting
• Strong project management skills
• Ability to manage own workload and stay proactive
• Customer-service oriented personality
• Experience with Proval is a plus
• Experience with multiemployer plans is a plus
• Actuarial credentials or certifications (optional)
