Description

Privately owned firm looking to add a Sr. Actuarial Analyst to their retirement practice. This role can be fully remote or can work out of 1 of their offices as well in a hybrid capacity. Not only will this role offer growth within the more traditional DB pension actuarial space, but will also offer exposure and opportunities to work on the investment side as well.

Primarily focused on defined benefit actuarial work with expanded opportunities to collaborate with investment services and plan administration teams. An interest in a broad range of retirement plan work is a must as responsibilities will span actuarial, investment, and administration services for defined benefit, defined contribution, and Other Post-Employment Benefit plans. Must be able to demonstrate mathematical aptitude, attention to detail, and project management skills. The ideal candidate will be dynamic and agile, with an entrepreneurial spirit and a thirst for learning new areas and developing a variety of skills.

Responsibilities include:

Leading annual pension valuation work, including data reconciliation, government filings, valuation reports, charts and presentations, etc.
Project managing and implementing pension risk transfer strategies, including annuity purchases, lump sum windows, and plan terminations
Project managing special projects such as plan design, data clean up, accrued benefit certifications, and nondiscrimination testing
Assisting sales and marketing effort by participating in research and request-for-proposals process.
Talking with clients and helping deliver presentations to clients
Willing to travel to client meetings

Qualifications:
2-5+ years of experience preferably with corporate retirement plan focus. Demonstrated success with SOA actuarial exams and preferably credentialed or near credentialed (EA or ASA). Candidate must have strong communication skills, a willingness to expand knowledge in all areas of retirement consulting, be detail-oriented and self-motivated. Candidate will be working with Excel and other Microsoft Office applications along with a host of other in-house software.

Preference is for candidates pursuing actuarial credentials, but also open to candidates who have decided not to pursue the actuarial exam track as long as you're capable of reviewing junior analyst level work.
