Client looking for a Senior Actuarial Associate to join their Corporate Actuarial team. This position will be part of a new team focusing on actuarial transformations. This detail-oriented, results-driven individual will have advanced knowledge of industry practices and standards and assume the lead in the assigned responsibilities. This position is essential for moving the department to a more modernized state which will create efficiencies, enhance controls, and increase value to the company
Duties:
Support development of end-to-end valuation workflow processes in a cloud-based environment
Test new processes for accuracy and appropriateness
Assist in the design of new processes
Support development and testing of Prophet models, including Assumption Manager, for all Corporate Actuarial uses
Participate in planning and make recommendations related to modernization
Assist in the build and testing of an assumption repository
Support the Assumption team in development and testing of enhanced experience study data and processes
Document decisions made, processes put in place and other work performed
Compile and analyze data, using statistical formulas and other actuarial methods
Assist in developing and implementing procedures to comply with new regulatory, control or governance requirements
Respond to requests for information from actuaries, accountants, auditors, management and other associates, as well as external stake holders, providing actuarial analysis where appropriate
Continued progression on actuarial exams
Qualifications:
Bachelor's in Actuarial Science, Mathematics Statistics or related field or equivalent work experience
2+ years of actuarial experience, with life and/or annuity experience preferred
Prophet software knowledge preferred
Making progress towards actuarial designations if not already there.
Advanced knowledge of insurance products and concepts, actuarial theory and techniques, and regulation of the insurance industry
Ability to accurately perform detailed calculations with a high-level of understanding
Ability to clearly and thoroughly document assumptions, decisions, processes, and other work performed
Project management experience with the ability to multi-task and switch back and forth between projects as needed
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
