Insurance company in the Midwest has a need for a Senior Risk Reporting Analyst to provide support in the risk reporting function, including responsibility for assessing risk exposures and reporting analysis to internal and external stakeholders. The incumbent will focus on enhancing risk reporting capabilities to support business objectives and long-term sustainability.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Builds, performs, maintains and enhance enterprise risk data reporting to drive decision making.
Support standard and ad-hoc risk reporting and analysis on a wide variety of risk, liquidity and capital-related topics.
Assist in strategic initiatives with business intelligence analytics platforms and reporting tools
Support quantitative reporting needs of other risk functions (ALM, Derivatives, Asset Risk, Liquidity Risk, Operational Risk, etc.)
Identify opportunities for automation, connection with other reporting and initiatives, and generate new ways to report key information
Participate in initiatives to develop effective controls for data, data quality metrics and governance.
Builds data visualization and reporting to measure and monitor economic capital position and risk profile.
Functions as a risk partner and coordinates reporting on risk initiatives to optimize outcomes.
Conducts risk assessments and proactively identifies opportunities to optimize outcomes.
Enhances risk culture and risk framework by helping stakeholders to improve effectiveness and efficiency through reporting.
PREREQUISITES:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Management or related field of study, plus three to five (3 to 5) years of progressively responsible experience in a reporting or risk related role.
Experience in a life and annuity company preferred.
Actuarial exams or credentials are a plus but not mandotory (Candidates will have exam study support if needed)
Advanced Excel is required; PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Visual Basic skills are strongly preferred
Experience with Tableau or similar Business Intelligence tools a plus.
Strong understanding in risk reporting, analysis and visualization in the insurance industry.
Excellent analytical skills; ability to independently research and analyze financial and other data.
Ability to effectively present information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Ability to understand applicable laws, regulations, financial services trends and regulatory focus areas that impact projects.
