Sr. Associate Actuary - Life - Remote - 9817

Client looking to add a Senior Associate Actuary for the Life Reinsurance team. This position will lead complex reinsurance initiatives, become a subject matter expert on client's Life product portfolio, and establish strong partnerships with external reinsurance partners and internal stakeholders. This client-facing, actuarial position will have a direct role in the development and management of cost effective, innovative reinsurance programs for Life Solutions, including (but not limited to) support of existing inforce arrangements, and the execution and implementation of new reinsurance solutions. Additionally, this position will own the communications of pricing and product development updates to client's reinsurance business partners.
Duties:
Reinsurance Relationship Management: Build trusting relationships and gain understanding of specific areas of expertise with reinsurance partners on inforce and new business solutions. Provide guidance and direction on specific reinsurer inquires, leverage product knowledge to effectively communicate key product updates to reinsurers while understanding specific risks from their perspective.
Life Product Knowledge: establish strong relationship with internal pricing and product development teams to gain expertise on new product features and key product updates to effectively communicate with reinsurance business partners. Collaborate with internal teams and connect teams with reinsurer-specific expertise on innovative products in the marketplace.
Reinsurance Modeling & Analysis: apply reinsurance knowledge to analyze and identify optimal reinsurance solutions, such as structure and retention usage, that are both cost effective and align with client's overall reinsurance strategy. Develop, present, and influence creative, reinsurance solutions to senior management. Improve upon and/or create new reporting and analytics innovation capabilities for reinsurance reporting, leveraging enterprise tools like Tableau (data visualization), Oracle SQL databases, and SAS.
Collaborate and provide reinsurance subject matter expertise to key internal stakeholders to assess, select and recommend solutions and/or alternative approaches that will achieve business goals. Direct and/or manage inter-department projects related to reinsurance, demonstrating such skills as project leadership, communication, time management, and meeting deadlines.
Qualifications:
5-7+ years of experience in actuarial science that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position
Programming/modeling skills: proficiency in SAS, SQL, Excel VBA
Life product knowledge and reinsurance/business knowledge
Undergraduate degree and 4+ years of comparable work experience required
FSA preferred, ASA required
