Description
Larger consulting firm looking to add talent on the health and benefits side. Position can be located in several different Western Region locations and might even be able to be fully remote for the right individual. Ideal candidate will have 5+ years of health and benefits experience and more than likely coming out of a similar consulting or brokerage firm environment. Position can be filled with an actuary or non-actuary. Looking for backgrounds ideally in plan design, analysis, cost savings strategies. Would also like to see experience leading/mentoring and developing junior staff-analysts. Project management/client management experience also desired.
Role:
Play a lead role in the design/management of group medical, dental, disability, and tie off plans for large complex clients, including: benefit plan analysis, design, cost savings and funding strategies. Vendor procurement, negotiation, and optimization. Incorporation of specialized health management, absence and disability management, pharmacy, data analytics and compliance strategies.
Serve as the technical/financial expert on select projects.
Serve as project manager and day to day contact for select clients.
Qualifications:
Ideal candidate will have 5-7 years experience in the design/management of large group health and benefits plans gained in a consulting or brokerage environment.
Strong financial skills, prior experience in health and welfare product pricing, underwriting or valuation work preferred.
Ability to project manage and lead staff or small teams.
Ability to be client facing whether in a lead role or approaching a lead role.
Actuarial designations a plus, but not required.
State Life and Health license likely required within 90 days of joining.
