Sr. Health Actuarial Consultant-8061
Rapidly growing actuarial consulting firm is looking to add to staff. This company has about 100 employees overall, which allows the right candidate to work directly with principal consulting actuaries and interact with clients. Overall, the work/life balance is exceptionally good at this operation, although there will be times when client needs will require additional work time. Preference would be a health consulting background with client facing experience. Actuaries in this organization remain very technical and hands-on and the successful candidate should be experienced with Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Access, Power Point and Word. Additional programming experience is a plus, including familiarity with Proval. Primary responsibilities will be consulting with employers. Typical assignments include evaluations of Health, Dental, Vision, and Pharmacy programs and typically includes claims analysis, provider network evaluation, and benefit analysis. We are seeking a 5 to 10 year credentialed health actuary (ASA or FSA), preferably with a consulting background. ASA candidates will be expected to continue the actuarial exams to achieve an FSA. This client has a generous actuarial study program to support the studying for and passing of the exams. This position can be housed in Chicago, San Diego, DC, Charlotte, Portland, New Jersey (outside of Philadelphia) or New York. The position requires an understanding of the current employer sponsored health care market, knowledge of major PBMs in the US, understanding employer sponsored compliance perspective (including ACA requirements), knowledge of eligibility and claims data manipulation, cash flow projections, benefit change pricing, business partner selection and negotiations (required accounting reports, liability determination, funding analysis, etc.) Public Sector or Multi-Employer experience is a plus.
