Description

Client is a boutique consulting firm. We work mostly with multiemployer health funds,
and serve as their health consultants, providing them with compliance and financial advice.

We are seeking a Senior Healthcare Benefits Consultant with a minimum of 5 years of experience
consulting with Medical and Rx group benefit plan clients (experience with multiemployer health
plans a plus), including experience coordinating with insurance renewal negotiations,
coordination with benefit managers, financial analysis of claims, trends and reserves, and
working with outside vendors (i.e., accountant, legal, actuarial) on compliance matters.

Responsibilities
• Keep clients apprised of changes in legislation, and implications for their health plan
• Monitor benefit managers and review their reports with our clients
• Assist with insurance carrier/benefit manager (medical, Rx, dental, vision, stop-loss)
renewals and/or market checks
• Design, develop, and price plan design changes; coordinate with benefit managers to
implement changes
• Update or restate SPDs, SBCs, and other annual ACA notices
• Perform financial forecasting to measure performance of health funds
• Project management, operational, and quality review responsibility
• Develop relationships with existing & prospective clients; attend industry conferences
• Assist with financial calculations such as COBRA rate development, IBNR, and retiree
contribution rates
• Attend and present at quarterly client meetings
• Assist actuary with development of per capita claim costs for valuation purposes

Qualifications
• Deep knowledge of management of group medical, Rx, dental, and vision benefit plans
• Experience coordinating with benefit managers
• Excellent operations/project management skills
• Customer-service oriented personality
• Ability to work independently and stay proactive
• Insurance brokerage licensing (optional)
• Actuarial credentials or certifications (optional)

trust/rapport/performance, would consider allowing to work from home 1 day/week.
